14:00 - 14:30 GSA Case Study: Implementing a Direct Vendor Delivery System

GSA has transformed more then anyone when it comes to logistics transformation. GSA closed distribution centers at the end of December and no longer has stock inventory where warfighters were supplied.

GSA currently runs a 100% direct vendor delivery system behind a number of contract vehicles that are designed to provide the same or better support then the distribution center. This is an unprecedented change, and a phase out of brick and mortar. The session will update the audience on the change, progress and initial performance of this new model.

15:40 - 16:00 Balancing Public-Private Collaboration and Internal Growth to Support New Platforms

NAVSUP partners with Navy and industry, and continues to pursue additional partnering opportunities as a standard part of daily business. Experience has clearly demonstrated that partnering with industry, particularly under performance-based logistics (PBL) arrangements, promotes the sharing of best business practices, encourages reliability improvements, ensures the Navy retains its repair capabilities, and improves readiness at reduced costs.

This session will discuss the significant growth in new workload in both contracting and operations stemming from the fact that in additional to the utilization of PBLs, there is a transition away from a few of our PBL arrangements, meaning work taken back.
